Chimney Level 2 Inspection in La Canada Flintridge, CA

What goes into a chimney level 2 inspection visit in La Canada Flintridge

In La Canada Flintridge, EverSafe plans roof access before the visit, because a tall chimney on a sloped lot needs safe footing for a full inspection. Once on the roof, we check the cap and spark arrestor screen, the crown, and the flashing where the stack meets the roof. Inside, a camera shows the flue liner from top to bottom. When a home has more than one flue, each one gets its own entry in the written report, so a gas fireplace flue and a wood-burning flue are never lumped together. Draft and carbon monoxide checks are part of every gas fireplace visit here.

The 2009 Station Fire burned within La Canada Flintridge city limits, and the foothill neighborhoods still face ember risk whenever Santa Ana winds blow. A chimney cap with a sound spark arrestor screen is the first defense at the roofline. We check the mesh for rust and gaps and confirm the cap is fastened tightly, since strong wind can lift a loose one off the flue.
